Introducing: The Racing Line
Rebranding, and the future
In 2023, I began writing Moda x Macchina, a substack about Formula 1 through a fashion lens. Then, after a few months, I abandoned it completely. I am going to be completely transparent with you, I was burned out. I was working somewhere where I had to write for 6 hours straight every day, and I just couldn’t do it anymore. I have moved on from that role now and with a few other drastic changes in my life, I am in a better headspace to continue this project, but in order to do so, I need to rebrand this substack.
The name Moda x Macchina is now retired. Though the name suits this publication (it couldn’t get more literal than ‘Fashion x Car’ in Italian), the marketing and branding side of my brain always told me that having an Italian name for an English publication is not the greatest idea ever. If I can’t be at peace with the name, I will never truly want to write, as silly as that sounds.
The Racing Line will be a continuation of Moda x Macchina with the same type of content. I will continue writing about fashion and Formula 1. Now and then, I will write about Formula 1 news and provide my own takes (and ramblings) on whatever is happening on and off track. Please look forward to new content very soon.
I also want to thank you for subscribing to my Substack. It truly means a lot to me that you are taking the time to read this. The goal of this project is to create a community of people that love fashion and Formula 1 and to provide insights on how important the fashion industry has been to Formula 1, now and in the past.
Sincerely,
Diana L.
